He's a Real-Live Cop!

So this weekend was full of lots of excitement! Jake finished his training with other officers (FTO's) and he started his first week on his own. Saturday night we went to SLC to go to his sister's play and then afterwards we picked his police car up from the precinct and drove it to his house. It was alot of fun riding in his car and seeing all the buttons and gadgets they have inside. I never realized how many things they have to have in their cars! I felt funny in normal clothes riding in a police car, but it was fun! I could tell that Jake loved it, because once we got back to his house he turned the sirens on for like one second and scared the heck out of me. We had dinner with some of our friends the next day at Jake's house and he got to show them his car which was lots of fun for everyone... I do have to admit that I like him being on his own because I get to talk to him more.
We have less than seven weeks before the wedding and I am getting super excited. I am excited for my classes to be over, the whole family to be together, and to go to vegas. We decided to see Phantom of the Opera and the Ka Cirque de Solei (sp?) shows. Does anyone have any other ideas of what to do? We want to do lots of different stuff! It is exciting to plan things and know that it isn't too far away.

I cannot believe he will have to battle homeless bums and shifty-eyed vagrants on his own! Scary! You need to just explore Vegas and do all the fun, free stuff like Bellagio show, the MGM lion show, etc--go to Barnes and Noble and check out the travel section, woman! And for goodness sakes, build a spreadsheet with the info! Did you learn nothing from our Costco trip?

I say that you go to the M&M store and see the wall of candy...yum! What schedule did he get? I hope it is good timing. Congrats Jake! Way to go!

And don't forget the buffets! Go at lunch time it's cheaper and stay till dinner. It's easily done if you plan to wait in line at the end of lunch time but make sure you're not too late...cause when we went through we all got lunch prices and then the clocked ticked over and the people behind us got dinner prices. Suckers. And we ate all the dinner food we could stuff in ourselves...and the desserts were amazing!

I also have to second the free stuff. Besides the Belagio fountains and the MGM lion show there is also a free pirates and sinking ship show each night at Treasure Island and there's also an arcade and rollercoaster on the top of the castle if you like that sort of thing.

And you HAVE to go walk around the Venetian. It is amazing. There are gondala rides and the ceiling is painted with clouds so you feel like you're outside in the middle of the night. And they have an art museum in there. And there are people dressed as white statues that will move if you give them a dollar. :)

Vegas...so much fun.
